SAP GTS Functional specialist .
Next Ventures are currently executing a search for an experienced SAP GTS Compliance and Customs Management Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient customs management within the SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) module. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, logistics, legal, and finance, to ensure adherence to international trade laws and regulations. Your expertise in SAP GTS and customs compliance will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's global operations and maintaining a smooth flow of goods across borders.

The role can be a Hybrid working arrangement if the consultant is from Europe with Remote working combined with on site visits...

Responsibilities:

SAP GTS Implementation and Configuration:
    • Lead the implementation and configuration of the SAP GTS module to meet the organization's compliance and customs management requirements.
    • Customize the GTS system settings, compliance checks, and document types based on regional regulations and trade policies.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate SAP GTS with other enterprise systems for seamless data exchange.

Compliance Management:
    • Stay up-to-date with global trade regulations, export controls, import/export restrictions, and customs laws applicable to the organization's operations.
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive compliance framework within SAP GTS to ensure adherence to trade compliance policies.
    • Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
    • Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance procedures and best practices.

Customs Management:
    • Manage customs processes, including import and export documentation, duty calculations, classification, and valuation.
    • Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely customs filings.
    • Monitor customs clearance activities, resolve any customs-related issues, and mitigate delays in the movement of goods.
    • Work closely with government authorities to address customs inquiries, audits, and investigations.

System Support and Troubleshooting:
    • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for SAP GTS users, resolving issues related to compliance screening, embargo checks, and customs declarations.
    • Collaborate with IT teams and SAP consultants to identify system enhancements, implement upgrades, and optimize GTS functionality.
    • Monitor system performance, data quality, and interface integrations to ensure the accuracy and reliability of compliance and customs processes.

Continuous Improvement:
    • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and standardization within the SAP GTS compliance and customs management functions.
    • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure and track compliance and customs performance.
    • Participate in cross-functional projects to drive efficiency, reduce risks, and enhance the organization's trade compliance capabilities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, international trade, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Strong experience (7 years) working with SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) module, including configuration, compliance checks, customs management, and system support.
  • In-depth knowledge of international trade laws, customs regulations, and export controls across various geographies.
  • Familiarity with customs processes, including import/export documentation, classification, valuation, and duty calculations.
  • Experience in managing customs brokers, freight forwarders, and customs authorities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to practical business situations.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data accuracy and integrity.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, external stakeholders, and government authorities.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional certifications in trade compliance (e.g., Certified Global Trade Compliance Professional - CCTP) are desirable.
 
  • Having 7-9 years of experience in GTS Compliance and Customs Management
  • At least 2 implementation project experience
  • Ability to deliver the end to end solution with no additional support
  • Knowledge of Forms and Layouts
  • Strong GTS technical skills
  • Ability to deliver process design documents, functional specifications
  • Strong in communication and Self driven
